About the Workshop
It is undeniable that the current circumstances of the world have caused a sense of destabilization for so many of us. Many of us are experiencing feelings of anxiety, uncertainty, loss of control, helplessness, deep fear and more.
And while so many of the outer forces in life are perhaps out of our control, there are practices that can help us create a deeper sense of inner stability, so that we can move through these times more empowered and with a sense that we will be okay no matter what.
Yoga Nidra is a meditation-based practice, done laying down on the back, that can help us:
Reduce anxiety
Find a space within ourselves that is stable and at peace
Soothe our nervous system, restoring us physiologically to a place of greater ease
Experience the part of ourselves that is beyond our ever-changing emotions
During the workshop, we discuss the background of the practice, the science behind how it works including its effect on the nervous system, an understanding of the progression of the practice and how different components can help us retrain our brains to feel a greater sense of safety and wellbeing. The workshop concludes with a deeply restorative yoga nidra practice.
